Answer
Who installs a Power-Pole shallow water anchor in Jacksonville?
The short answer
Trolling Motor Services Plus installs hydraulic shallow water anchors at its Jacksonville shop and is a certified warranty repair center for Power-Pole. The same shop installs and maintains Power-Pole chargers, fabricates custom mounting plates, and powder coats shallow water anchors in house. Hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm. For a free estimate, call 904-573-0480.
Does the shop install Power-Pole anchors, or only service them?
Both. Shallow water anchor installation is one of the trolling motor services on the Services page, described there as hydraulic anchor systems that hold the boat in place while you fish. Power-Pole is also on the shop’s certified warranty repair list, next to Minn Kota, MotorGuide and Rhodan, and Power-Pole chargers are installed and maintained in the same shop.
One shop, then, for the whole life of the anchor: fitting it, keeping its charger healthy, and putting it right under warranty if it fails.
What does the shop need to know before it quotes the job?
The boat, and what is already on the transom. An outboard, a jack plate and a trolling motor all compete for the same few inches of stern, and whether a Power-Pole fits cleanly is decided there, not on the phone. Tell the shop the make and model of the boat, what is mounted now, and whether you want one anchor or a pair.
Say what else is planned. The shop fits trolling motors, rewires boats and installs electronics, and jobs that share a wiring run are easier to plan together than one after another.
Can the shop make a bracket or plate if the transom needs one?
Yes. Custom mounting plates are on the Services page: fabrication of plates to mount accessories and electronics securely. Where a transom, a jack plate or an existing bracket leaves nowhere clean to bolt an anchor, the shop makes the plate rather than forcing the fit.
Powder coating is done in house as well, and shallow water anchors are on the published list of what gets coated, alongside T-tops, trailer rims and engines.
What about the charger and the wiring?
Power-Pole chargers are installed and maintained by the shop, and so is the wiring that feeds them. The Services page lists system checks, repairs, complete rewiring and custom lighting under wiring and lighting, with Stealth chargers alongside the Power-Pole ones. An anchor running off a tired battery or a thin cable will misbehave however well it is mounted.
For the rest of the electrical side, read the marine electronics and wiring page.
What changes the size of the job?
Four things, and the shop will ask about each of them. Whether the boat takes one anchor or two. Whether the transom needs a custom plate before anything can be bolted on. Whether a charger goes in at the same time. And whether the wiring to the stern is sound or needs replacing. Powder coating to match the boat is a fifth, if you want it.
Prices for installation are not published on the shop’s site, and this page sets none. For a free estimate on your boat, call 904-573-0480.
Can a trolling motor go on at the same time?
Yes. Trolling Motor Services Plus sells Minn Kota, MotorGuide and Rhodan motors and installs every make and model, and its home page lists jack plates among the equipment it maintains. For a lot of inshore boats the trolling motor at the bow and the Power-Pole at the stern are two ends of the same job.
The Minn Kota repair page covers the repair side of trolling motors, and the warranty repair page covers what happens when either unit fails under warranty.
What if the Power-Pole I already have stops working?
Bring it in. Power-Pole is on the certified warranty repair list, so a failed unit can be repaired or replaced to the manufacturer’s recommendations, and the chargers are maintained as well as installed. Have the paperwork with you if the unit is still inside its warranty, and call ahead with what the anchor is doing.
Where is the shop, and when can I bring the boat?
6735 Greenland Industrial Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32258, open Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm. Call 904-573-0480 first with the boat and what you want fitted, or send it through the contact form. Estimates are free. The business describes itself as boater owned and operated and says it serves Northeast Florida.
Questions we get asked
Do you fit shallow water anchors other than Power-Pole?
The Services page describes the work as hydraulic shallow water anchor systems and names Power-Pole as the brand the shop is certified to repair. Ask about another make before assuming either way; nothing on the site rules one in or out.
Can you powder coat the anchor to match the boat?
Yes, in house. Shallow water anchors are on the shop’s published list of parts it powder coats, with T-tops, trailer rims and engines.
Will you fit one to a new Action Craft?
The shop carries Action Craft boats and rigs trolling motors, anchors and electronics, so the anchor can be part of the conversation when the boat is. Ask for the rigging to be itemized on the estimate rather than assuming it is included.
How do I get an estimate?
Call 904-573-0480 or use the contact form. Estimates are free and the shop is open Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm.
Need the shop to look at it?
Call or come by the shop in Jacksonville. Tell us the motor and what it is doing and we will tell you what the work involves.
